APPLE IS TESTING A WAY TO UNLOCK AN IPHONE USING FACE ID WHILE KEEPING YOUR FACE MASK ON; IT REQUIRES USING AN APPLE WATCH.
(CNN) – Apple is testing a way to unlock your iPhone with Face ID without having to remove your pandemic face mask.
Currently, the iPhone’s Face Recognition security tool recognizes when someone is wearing a mask and triggers the passcode entry screen.
The new feature under beta testing requires an Apple Watch.
It let’s an iPhone communicate with a synced Apple Watch when the phone is raised to use Face ID.
The devices must be in close proximity.
When authentication is completed; the iPhone will automatically unlock and the apple watch will vibrate.
The feature will likely roll out broadly soon.
