Space for lots of cables, yes please? But nice and clear with a free space for each connection? That shouldn’t be a problem with Hama’s 12-in-1 USB-C Docking Station with Laptop Stand, as our overview in the preview above shows – you can get plenty of connections including USB-C, LAN, and card reader With the docking station, a total of 12 ports for different purposes. According to the manufacturer, the USB-C socket supports USB Power Delivery (USB PD) and therefore allows charging via a USB-C power supply. When transferring data through the docking station with Gigabit Ethernet data transfer, Hama establishes a speed of up to 1 Gbit / s and “super fast data transfer” of up to 5 Gbit / s. They process data from SD and microSD cards up to 2 TG. The station is compatible with Thunderbolt 3/4 (lightning bolt symbol). It should be possible to stream up to three monitors (including laptop screen) at the same time (multi-stream transport, 4k maximum resolution (4096 x 2160)). The dimensions of the deployed device are 21.8 cm wide, 23.3 cm deep (reduced by angle) and 8.6 cm high. When folded, the Hama stand measures 8.5 “wide, 9” deep and 1.5 “high.
The large space between the sockets in the aluminum housing should make it easy to connect even in wide sockets. This is where optimized kink protection comes in, which is intended to prevent cable breakage using flexible materials. A USB-C cable is included with the foldable 12-in-1 USB-C docking station. The manufacturer names Windows 10/8/7 and macOS 10.8 as system requirements.
The 12-in-1 USB-C docking station with laptop holder is available in stores for around 140 euros. A short YouTube video provides an overview. More technical details and specifications can be found on the manufacturer’s website.
